In this project sponsored by Energy Foundation, we reviewed and made recommendations to the Chinese design guide for green school buildings, including the performance apsects of lighting, acoustics and airflow.
Daylight availiability in various Chinese cities were analyzed, and various lighting systems were tested via simulation (Lightscape and Radiance) to demonstrate performance in terms of illuminance levels and distribution, glare, quality of views, and energy savings measures.
The findings in this project is expected to help in the development of comprehensive and objective performance-based benchmarks for the new Design Guide.
